Disputes
Disputes arise in community title scheme for many different reasons, whether it is regarding the by-laws (pets, noise, vehicles), maintenance, owner improvements or general meetings to name a few.
In the event of a dispute, in all cases the most advisable course is to put your issue in writing to the committee for your body corporate so the matter may be raised at the next available meeting.
If the dispute is not speedily resolved you may consider contacting the Commissioner's Office whose role is to assist people who live, work or invest in community titles schemes in accordance with the powers conferred on it by the Body Corporate and Community Management Act 1997.
The Commissioner's dispute resolution service resolves disputes through mediation or adjudication. They also have an information service that responds to community enquiries about the legislation.
